Debate competition

Due to the class suspension, students had five live lessons to practise for the Junior Debate Competition. During the live lessons, students listened to one another and gave feedback. After each lesson, students uploaded their audio/video clips to iClass for teachers to analyze students’ progress.

Students reviewed key elements of debate and brainstormed ideas. Since it was a small group, teachers were able to engage each student in the process. This ensured all students had an equal opportunity to express their opinions and display their talent. After intensive practising, three students were chosen to participate in the competition. Students came back to school and recorded their parts. The experience promoted students’ overall development as they learnt a new topic, researched and analyzed data, argued with logic and evidence.
